Right Ventricular Flow Dynamics in Dilated Right Ventricles: Energy Loss Estimation Based on Blood Speckle Tracking Echocardiography—A Pilot Study in Children

چکیده

Using blood speckle tracking (BST) based on high-frame-rate echocardiography (HFRE), we compared right ventricle (RV) flow dynamics in children with atrial septal defects (ASDs) and repaired tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF). Fifty-seven rTOF severe pulmonary insufficiency (PI) (n = 21), large ASDs 11) healthy controls (CTL, n 25) were included. a phantom, studied the effects imaging plane smoothing parameters 2-D energy loss (EL). RV diastolic EL was similar ASD rTOF, but both greater than CTL. Locations high all groups systole, occurring outflow tract around tricuspid valve leaflets early diastole. An additional apical area noted corresponding to colliding inflow PI. The phantom revealed that varied settings trend preserved if kept consistent.

Right ventricular function in coronary slow flow: A two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiographic study.

OBJECTIVE Coronary slow-flow phenomenon (CSFP) is described as protracted passage of angiographic contrast agent to the distal portion of the epicardial coronary arteries in the absence of stenosis. Few studies have addressed the effects of this condition on right ventricular (RV) dysfunction. The present objective was to assess RV function in CSFP via 2-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiog...

Right Ventricular Non-Compaction Cardiomyopathy in Children: Brief Review Literature

Right ventricular non-compaction cardiomyopathy (RVNC) is a genetic heterogeneous cardiomyopathy. Despite the increasing number of RVNC cases, the classification and natural history of this disorder are not completely clear. Also, because the pathogenic non-compaction cannot be easily differentiated from normal trabeculations, it is usually hard to accurately measure the prevalence of RV ...

Right ventricular dilated cardiomyopathy.

Fourteen patients with predominantly right sided dilated cardiomyopathy were studied, of whom five died suddenly. The condition is characterised by male preponderance, syncope, ventricular tachycardia, which typically has a left bundle branch block pattern on the surface electrocardiogram, and right heart failure. The diagnosis should be considered in patients presenting with otherwise unexplai...

Familial right ventricular dilated cardiomyopathy.

Cardiomyopathy of unknown cause occurred in three of six siblings. The course of the illness was marked by life threatening supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, sinoatrial block, atrioventricular block, and embolism (in one patient). The disease was characterised by right ventricular dilatation. Two of the three patients died aged 32 and 48. No new cases of the disease were found when ...

Right ventricular function in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: A speckle tracking echocardiography study

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to explore right ventricular (RV) mechanical function in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) by 2-D speckle tracking echocardiography (2-D-STE). METHODS Forty-three patients with HCM (mean age 48, 17 females) and 40 healthy subjects were consecutively included in this cross-sectional study. The diagnosis of HCM was based on the presence of typic...
